Take five minutes to study/prepare for Grammar Chapter 4 (Complements) Quiz
* You may use the Holt Handbook (make sure you have one)
* You may use your notes sheet, notebook, and homework packet (Please have them out on your desk - you will hand in your homework packet at the end of your quiz)
* Please take your Quiz in black or dark blue pen

You will have the entire period

Extra Credit Opportunity (5-6 points)
If you finish your quiz with time to spare, you MUST complete the extra credit opportunity.
Take a piece of white lined paper and write your heading in the top left corner on lines (name, English 8, Period, Date)
1) Write a sentence with a direct object
2) Write a sentence with an indirect object and direct object
3) Write a sentence with a predicate nominative
4) Write a sentence with a predicate adjective.
5) Write a sentence without a complement
*Underline and label the complement*
**An additional extra credit point will be given if your sentences flow like a short story/paragraph and are about the same topic.**
**They do not have to be in this order**

After you finish your quiz/extra credit...
Use the following link OR Google search "No Sweat Shakespeare Sonnet 104"
Write a response journal to "Sonnet 104" by William Shakespeare in the poetry/vocabulary section of your notebook
(You are responding emotionally, making associations, responding to language, or asking questions)
Read your SSR book (anytime you read in class counts toward your homework)

Finish "Sonnet 104" response Journal
Read SSR Book (30 minutes)
