Do Now
If you have not handed in your SSR Log, please hand it in today. It will count as 1 day late (5 points off.) On Monday, it will count as three days later, and you will lose 15 points. Please make sure your name is on it.

Please also hand in your Act 4 and Act 5 Quizzes if you made corrections or had a signature. You will not be able to hand them in for extra credit on Monday. ((Please collect separately.))

Note to the Substitute Teacher - You can stack the notebooks on the top of the cart in the front corner of the room. The students must hand it in at the beginning of the period. The ones on my desk should not be redistributed to students. If they read today or this weekend, they can log on separate piece of paper and log it in their logs later.

Writing
You may use the Chromebooks and this class period to write your Romeo and Juliet/West Side Story Compare and Contrast Essay. Please share it with me at bogotaenglish8@gmail.com when you are finished. Periods 1-2 and 2-3 must share by 8:00P.M. Periods 5-6 and 6-7 must share at the end of the class period. 

*Mia and Shahem -- I'm sorry I cannot be in class to read your essays with you! You will find my comments on your essays. I will try to log on to your essays while you are in class working on them in case you have any other questions.

You will be taking your Grammar Chapter 6 Quiz today. You may use Holt Handbook , your notebook, your notes sheet, and your homework packet. Welcome Baby Henry!

Baby Henry David was born on Wednesday, April 18th, 2018, weighing 8 pounds and 4 ounces and measuring 20.5 inches long. Baby Henry came early because Mommy had sudden onset of a disorder called HELLP Syndrome and the doctors felt the best treatment for everyone was to make an early entrance! Maybe we can visit in June after all!
