Hi, Friends!
I have finished your marking period three grades! Now I can put these swollen feet up and relax!
Mr. Murphy will pass back the rest of the Grammar Chapter 5 Quizzes (Period 2-3, 5-6, and 6-7) with the updated extra credit grades. He will also pass back the grading rubrics for your personal narratives.
Personal Narrative Grades - I modified the rubric that I used for your Compare and Contrast Essay, which is also the rubric used on the PARCC. Essentially, I was looking for a fully developed plot/story, fully developed characters and setting, and appropriate and frequent dialogue that was punctuated correctly. I wrote this in on most rubrics. The Period 6-7 and any rubrics for essays submitted after April 9th are not included in what is being passed back today.
All of your grades are in Real Time for the third marking period. Everything else I have in my possession will be passed back next week. If you have any questions, please e-mail me, but I will probably not be checking the school e-mail again until next week. I am on maternity leave, after all :)
I also completed Honors Recommendations. Anyone with an average of 90 or higher after MP1, 2, and 3 was recommended for English I Honors for ninth grade. Several people had averages of 89. Mr. Murphy and Mrs. Misa will make a decision on these students' placements after MP4 and/or the final examination. Again, if you have any questions, please e-mail me, but do not expect an immediate response.
