Pre-Assessment
You will take your Reading Pre-Assessment today. It will NOT count as a grade for this marking period. However, you will take the SAME test in January, after we have worked on many of these skills, and then it will count as a QUIZ grade. 

You must use a PENCIL for the SCAN TRON.
Please let me know if you do not have a pencil and I will provide you with one.

Period: 1-2, 2-3, 5-6, or 6-7 (whichever class you are in)

Please fill out the Scan Tron appropriately. It is here, on the Smartboard, and I say it aloud. Please follow directions.

You must spend a minimum of 30 minutes on your Pre-Assessement. After the timer goes off you have three choices:

1) Continue working on Pre-Assessment
2) Take a Chromebook to continue working on Compare-Contrast Essay (Notes and a Sample Essay are in Resources)
3) Complete Holt Handbook Pages: 21-22 Chapter One Review (answers will be posted on my website this afternoon)

Homework
Continue to work on Compare and Contrast Essay (time in class will be given tomorrow AFTER you finish Grammar Quiz)
Study for Grammar Chapter 1 Quiz (extra help today at 2:40P.M.)
Grammar Chapter 1 Packet is due tomorrow (let me know if you need a new one, but you will have to complete it on your own)

Welcome Baby Henry!

Baby Henry David was born on Wednesday, April 18th, 2018, weighing 8 pounds and 4 ounces and measuring 20.5 inches long. Baby Henry came early because Mommy had sudden onset of a disorder called HELLP Syndrome and the doctors felt the best treatment for everyone was to make an early entrance! Maybe we can visit in June after all!
